Employment and Record of Offences

GUIDE TO YOUR RIGHTS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE
HUMAN RIGHTS CODE

Employment and Record of Offences
When you apply for a job, you cannot be asked whether you have any kind of
criminal record.  It is, however, legal to ask whether you have been convicted of
a federal offence for which you have not received a pardon.  You may be asked
during an interview whether you are bondable, if that is a requirement for the job.
